Fine Art Lighting

Bespoke fine art picture lights designed, built and installed

About

With a background in design and engineering, Robert Hogarth started making picture lights over ten years ago. As a gallery owner he saw the need for a decent picture light as none were available.

He started with the excellent 'Hogarth Original Picture Light', a traditional English brass picture light - but with patented features to enable adjustment of the throw of light to evenly cover the canvas.

Over the years the products have grown to four styles of picture lights with many features, for example: a bespoke service to make lights to suit each painting - picture lights being cut to any length, custom arms shapes/protusion, advice and expertise in L.E.D. lighting gathered over the years to best illuminate modern or old, large or very long paintings.

As technology and experience has grown, the humble picture light has become more accurate, modern and safer.

Our Picture Lights

Our picture lights are totally safe for lighting valuable and important paintings within, for example, National Trust or English Heritage properties.

Using modern technology and craftmans skills - our picture lights are made individually, by hand, in England.

Presidential palace Malta

There are patented and unique methods we can employ to adjust each picture light to suit the painting it is illuminating; evenly lighting large portraits to wide landscapes: adjustable shutters, filters and reflectors.

trinity college cambridge

Being a group of designers and engineers, our bespoke picture lights can be made to any size and we enjoy the challenge of demanding projects where lighting large or difficult to access ancient paintings need careful planning and specially designed, one-off, components.

Savoy

This also allows for our lights to be used on bookcases, lecterns and cabinet lighting.

We can make arms in any shape or protusion to aid the picture light illuminate the artwork it is lighting. Our range of finishes is unique in that we have our standard range of colours, which are great for any setting! And we have the ability to finish our lights in any colour or finish the client desires.

Westminster Abbey

Our technology is the heart of our business and we use only L.E.D. bulbs in our picture lights. We have been developing this for the last ten years and were the first to use L.E.D's in a picture light. We have 'stand alone' remotes that can adjust colour temperature and dimming. We produce unique power options for our picture lights: rechargable batteries, Thin Wire, Invisible Wire and excellent transformers to suit the differing lighting systems that can cause problems with lighting projects.

hever castle

We work closely with interior and lighting designers day to day and most of our work comes from word of mouth and personal recommendations from our clients, designers and electricians.

The majority of our picture lights are in stately homes, National Trust houses, museums, palaces, castles, clubs, celebrity homes, restaurants and hotels all around the world.
